Chancel Mbemba has reaffirmed his professionalism and dedication to Olympique Marseille amid swirling transfer rumors.
Despite reports suggesting the Congolese defender is biding his time to leave as a free agent, his lawyer, Grégory Ernes, categorically denies these claims.
In a statement shared with La Provence, Ernes clarified that the center-back has not received any concrete offers from interested clubs like Stade Rennais or Al-Fetah. “The information circulating is false. Since arriving at Marseille on a free transfer, Mbemba has maintained an exemplary attitude toward the club,” said Ernes.
He emphasized that Marseille’s €3 million asking price is the primary barrier, deterring potential suitors. Ernes added, “It is the significant sum demanded that puts off potentially interested clubs. Since no exit doors open, he has no choice but to act like the committed professional that he is.”
Ernes concluded by stating Mbemba remains open to opportunities but will honor his contractual obligations in the meantime, signaling his unwavering respect for the club’s values.
