Chancel Mbemba’s move to Newcastle United has been officially confirmed after the Congolese international defender received his work permit. The 20-year-old, who impressed last season with Anderlecht, where he made 28 appearances in the Belgian top division, has completed his transfer to the Premier League club.
The work permit was granted by the English Football Association, allowing Mbemba to finalize his move early Thursday evening. The agreement for the transfer had already been reached between the player, Anderlecht, and Newcastle, with a €10 million fee reportedly agreed upon.
