Football legend Abedi Ayew Pele has promised to be at the Accra Sports Stadium to support the Black Galaxies when they face Nigeria in the 2024 CHAN Qualifiers.
Ghana will take on the home-based Super Eagles in the first leg of the playoff on Sunday, November 22, 2024, before traveling to Nigeria for the return leg a week later.
Ahead of the crucial encounter, Pele’s Nania FC played a friendly against the Black Galaxies in Prampram, a match that ended in a victory for the Galaxies.
Speaking to the players after the friendly, the Ghanaian icon assured them of his presence at the Accra Sports Stadium this weekend, expressing his belief in their ability to overcome Nigeria.
“I will make sure that I am with you at the Accra Sports Stadium first to support you,” he said.
I have never done that. The invitations are too many, but I always try to avoid them. But this time, I’ll be there, be behind you, and see you go through the process.”
The upcoming clash marks a rematch of the 2022 playoffs, where Ghana triumphed over Nigeria to qualify, and the Black Galaxies will be aiming to replicate that success in their bid for the 2024 CHAN tournament.
