The semi-final line-up for the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN) has been confirmed, with Madagascar, Sudan, Morocco and Senegal all booking their place in the last four.
Madagascar, who stunned hosts Kenya in the quarter-finals with a 4-3 victory on penalties after a 1-1 draw, have reached their second successive semi-final in only their second tournament appearance.
The Barea A’ side, buoyed by their rapid rise in recent years, are now aiming to take the final step and contest the showpiece match.
Their opponents will be Sudan, who secured their progression in dramatic fashion against Algeria.
After a 1-1 stalemate, the Falcons of Jediane A’ triumphed 4-2 in the shootout, with goalkeeper Mohamed El Nour saving twice to seal the win.
The meeting in Dar es Salaam offers Sudan a chance to avenge their 3-0 defeat to Madagascar in the group stage of the 2022 edition.

Having fallen short at the semi-final stage in both 2011 and 2018, Sudan are determined to finally break through to the final.
The battle between Madagascar’s highly rated goalkeeper Toldo and El Nour, both heroes in penalty shootouts, is expected to be one of the defining duels of the encounter.
The other semi-final brings together two of the continent’s biggest forces in what many consider the final before the final.
Morocco, champions in 2018 and 2020, edged past Tanzania 1-0 in the last eight.
The Atlas Lions are seeking to reclaim their crown after missing the previous tournament.
They face reigning champions Senegal, who eliminated Uganda with a narrow 1-0 win to extend their own impressive run.
The Teranga Lions, now semi-finalists for a second successive edition, are attempting to match Morocco’s feat of reaching back-to-back finals.

This clash in Kampala pits tradition against momentum, with both sides boasting talent and pedigree capable of carrying them to the title.
The stage is therefore set for two compelling ties that will decide the finalists of CHAN 2025.
