The head coach of Madagascar, Romuald Rakotondrabe, was full of praise for his team on Tuesday after their hard-fought victory against Sudan in the semi-finals of the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN).
The victory confirms Madagascar’s rise as one of Africa’s most exciting football stories.
The Barea are in the final after winning bronze on debut in 2022. They will now challenge for gold and become the first island nation to reach a CAF senior final.
Speaking in a post-match interview after the win against Sudan, Coach Rakotondrabe praised his side’s teamwork and perseverance:
“Our strength lies in unity. Today, the players kept believing until the very end, and this victory belongs to them and to Madagascar,” Coach Rakotondrabe said as quoted on CAFOnline.
Madagascar, after making the final of CHAN 2024, will prepare for an epic showdown against Morocco in the final.
That game will be played in Nairobi on Saturday at the Moi Sports Centre, Kasarani
