The draw for the 2024 TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) has officially concluded, setting the stage for an exhilarating tournament.
The draw ceremony took place on Wednesday, January 15, at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre in Nairobi, Kenya.
In Group D, Nigeria’s Super Eagles B team will face a tough challenge as they go up against defending champions Senegal, Congo, and Sudan.
The group promises intense competition, with Nigeria aiming to qualify for the knockout stages and contend for the coveted title.
Host nation Kenya has been placed in Group A alongside Morocco, Angola, DR Congo, and Zambia. Joint hosts Tanzania will compete in Group B with Madagascar, Mauritania, Burkina Faso, and the Central African Republic.
Group C features Uganda, another co-host, who will battle Niger and Guinea. Two additional teams are set to join this group, with their spots to be decided through forthcoming qualifiers.
Originally scheduled for February 2024, the tournament has been postponed to August 2025 due to delays in infrastructure preparation. Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania will co-host the event, promising an unforgettable showcase of African football talent.
