**Senegal Misses Out on CHAN 2016 Qualification Despite Beating Guinea**
Senegal’s home win over Guinea (3-1) in the African Nations Championship qualifiers was not enough to book a ticket to Rwanda.
The Lions of Teranga entered the return leg needing to overturn a 2-0 defeat from the first match in Conakry. Their task was made harder when Aboubacar Bangoura scored from a free kick in the 3rd minute, giving Guinea a crucial away goal. Sylvain Badji equalized for Senegal in the 13th minute, but the 1-1 score at halftime meant they still faced an uphill battle.
In the closing stages, Sory Keita struck twice (83’, 89’) to give Senegal the win on the night, but Guinea advanced on away goals after a 3-3 aggregate draw.
The result leaves frustration in Senegal, where hopes for CHAN 2016 qualification had been high.
