In the first match of Group C at the African Nations Championship, Ghana secured a narrow victory over Congo with a score of 1-0. The only goal of the game was scored by Theophilus Anobaah in the 34th minute, deceiving the Congolese goalkeeper Mouyaki with a blocked shot. This win puts Ghana temporarily at the top of the group.
Despite efforts from coach Sebastien Migné’s players in the second half, Congo couldn’t find the equalizer. The other match in the group will feature Ethiopia against Libya at 6 p.m. GMT.
