Despite being favored in the predictions, the Burkina Faso Stallions faced disappointment in their first match of the African Nations Championship, losing 2-1 to Uganda on Sunday. Coach Brama Traoré expressed his dissatisfaction with the team’s performance in an interview with the Caf website.
“I am not happy with the performance of my players. We didn’t come to lose the first game. The players were surprised by the level of the Ugandans who scored early. Afterwards, they could let it come and play against it,” Traoré stated.
While disappointed, Traoré remains optimistic and focused on the upcoming matches. “We have two games left, and we maintain our chances of qualifying. Our two future opponents were equal. Today we saw a Moroccan team with a good technical base, and we are going to do everything we can to not go home early. I hope we will show a different face for the next match. The match will not be easy for us or for Morocco,” he added.
