After a disappointing start in CHAN 2014, Burkina Faso is gearing up for its second match against Morocco on Thursday, a crucial encounter in Group B. Recognizing the significance of this fixture, the Stallions are fully aware that another defeat could seriously jeopardize their chances of advancing to the second round of CHAN 2014. Coach Brama Traoré and his team are determined to redeem themselves against the Atlas Lions and reinvigorate their campaign.

In the lead-up to the match, both the technical management and players express a collective commitment to showcasing a different and improved performance. Coach Traoré emphasizes that Burkina Faso still holds control of its destiny but stresses the imperative of securing a victory against Morocco. He states, “We didn’t come to Cape Town as tourists. Although this is our first participation in the Chan, we have ambitions, and our objective is to go as far as possible and, why not, win the cup, if success is there.”

Acknowledging the unexpected challenge faced in the initial match, Traoré encourages his players to prove that it was a mere misstep and reiterates the competitive spirit within the team. Recognizing the difficulty posed by the Atlas Lions, known for their technical prowess and solid defense, the Stallions’ coach assures that a strategic game plan has been devised to counter Morocco’s strengths.

Highlighting the corrections made in their approach, Traoré emphasizes the importance of players quickly adapting to the match, respecting management’s instructions, and demonstrating unwavering commitment. He concludes by expressing confidence in a revitalized Stallions squad, stating, “Morocco will have a hard time facing re-motivated Stallions, communicative, liberated in the head and committed to fighting.” The team is poised for a determined effort to secure victory and revive their chances in the CHAN 2014 competition.
