Club Brugge promising midfielder Chamseddine Talbi says he is undecided on where his international future lies.
Morocco and Belgium are working around the clock to lure the teenage sensation to represent one of them, since he holds dual nationalities.
Talbi gain prominence following his swashbuckling performance in the Champions League playoffs.
He emerged as the hero when Club Brugge triumphed over Atalanta to secure qualification to the Round 16 of the UEFA Champions League campaign.
The Belgium-born Moroccan scooped the Man of the Match award in the first leg tie held in Belgium last week as his side inflicted a 2-1 win over their opponent.
Putting on another stellar performance, Talbi fired a brace to propel his side to a 3-1 away win in the second leg, confirming his sides’ qualification to the Round 16.
Despite featuring for Belgium youth national teams, Talbi insists he is yet to decide on his international future.
“I spoke with the officials of the Belgian team, as well as the Moroccan. I haven’t made my final decision yet.” he told RTL Radio in an interview.
“Morocco is an important country for me, as is Belgium. I spend my holidays in Morocco, and I am very close to my family there. That is why I think the decision is very difficult. But I will make the right decision after consulting with those close to me. I have time to think, and I am still young” he said.
Meanwhile, report emerging suggest the enterprising midfielder has made up his mind to represent Morocco and could earn a call up in the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers in March.
