Vita Club Secure Valuable Draw in Sandstorm-Interrupted Clash with Al Hilal
Vita Club managed a resilient 1-1 draw away to Sudanese side Al Hilal on Friday, during the third round of the CAF Champions League.
The Congolese visitors fell behind early when Sergia Junior put Al Hilal ahead. However, the match was disrupted in the 67th minute due to a sudden sandstorm, temporarily halting play and adding to the challenge.
Despite the interruption, Vita Club remained composed and earned a crucial equalizer late in the game. Lema Mabidi confidently converted a penalty in the 88th minute, rescuing a point for the Black Dolphins.
The draw leaves both Vita Club and Al Hilal tied at the top of their group with a one-point advantage over TP Mazembe and Zamalek, who meet on Sunday.
