Champions League/USMA: Pfister Optimistic About Qualification

Pfister

USM Alger is optimistic about its chances of qualifying for the CAF Champions League group stage after securing a 2-1 win in the first leg against US Kaloum. With this advantage, they now look ahead to the return leg in Bamako, Mali, scheduled for May 3, 2015.

Coach Otto Pfister expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance in the first leg, feeling that the victory has put them in a strong position for qualification. He also mentioned the advantage of playing the return leg on neutral ground, which could level the playing field.

The second leg will be officiated by Sudanese referees, with Mutaz Abdelbasset Khaïrallah as the center referee, and Waleed Ahmed Ali and Mustafa Ibrahim M. Medany as his assistants. The fourth official is Mohamed Idam Idam Hamid.

The match will take place at the Modibo Keïta Stadium in Bamako and is set to kick off at 5:00 p.m. UT. USM Alger will be looking to finish the job and secure their place in the group stage.
