**TP Mazembe Suffer Setback in Champions League Semi-Final Against El Merreikh**
TP Mazembe faced a tough defeat in the first leg of their CAF Champions League semi-final, losing 2-1 to Sudan’s El Merreikh.
The Congolese side, led by Moise Katumbi, were left with a mountain to climb in the return leg after a dramatic finish in Khartoum. Francis Coffie gave El Merreikh the lead in the 41st minute, but TP Mazembe responded in the 77th minute through Thomas Ulimwengu, who equalized for the visitors. However, El Merreikh regained their advantage just three minutes later, with Bakri Babeker scoring in the 80th minute to seal the win.
Despite the loss, Mazembe will have the advantage of an away goal as they prepare for the second leg in Lubumbashi next week, with everything still to play for.
