CAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL: ES SÉTIF READY FOR TOUGH BATTLE IN KINSHASA
Entente Sportive Sétif has arrived in Kinshasa ahead of their crucial CAF Champions League final first leg clash against AS Vita Club, scheduled for Sunday at Tata Raphaël Stadium. With all eyes on securing a historic continental title, ES Sétif has focused entirely on the double-legged showdown.
The Algerian side has received a timely boost with the return of two key players: central defender Farid Mellouli and striker Belamiri, both recovering from injury after two weeks on the sidelines.
Coach Kheireddine Madou expressed full confidence in his squad’s readiness and determination:
“The team is ready in every way. It’s a tough match between two teams with the same goals. In the African Cup, AS Vita Club is unbeatable at home, while we have already performed well away from home. We have the means to return to Sétif with a convincing result that will keep our chances intact before the return leg in Blida.”
Madou emphasized the mental strength and motivation of his players:
“The squad is determined to fight tooth and nail, not only this Sunday, but also on November 1st. The players are aware that they will have to carry the colors of ESS — and especially those of the country — very high.”
Having eliminated TP Mazembe in the semifinals, Sétif is aiming to become the first Algerian club to win the CAF Champions League in its modern format and book a ticket to the FIFA Club World Cup in Morocco.
