CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: PSG BEAT AJAX AND SET SIGHTS ON BARCELONA SHOWDOWN
Paris Saint-Germain secured a crucial 3-1 win over Ajax Amsterdam last night at the Parc des Princes in the UEFA Champions League. With qualification already in the bag, PSG now sets its sights on finishing top of Group F — a goal that will require at least a draw in their final group match against Barcelona at the Camp Nou.
But the French champions are aiming even higher.
Club president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi made PSG’s ambitions clear: “We’re going to Barcelona to get three points, not to draw.”
Facing a Barça side hungry for revenge after their 3-2 defeat in Paris earlier in the campaign, the Parisians know the challenge will be immense. However, the team remains confident.
Edinson Cavani, on the scoresheet against Ajax, stated: “We are Paris-SG, a team made up of great players who have won a lot, and it’s the same for Barça.”
David Luiz, never short on confidence, added a personal touch: “It will also be difficult for Messi, Neymar and Suárez to play against me.”
Riding high after a solid group-stage campaign, PSG enters the ultimate group clash with belief, form, and unity — but they’ll need every ounce of it in what promises to be a thrilling battle in Barcelona.
