TP Mazembe cannot yet celebrate qualification for the CAF Champions League quarter-finals following their 1-1 draw against Ismaily on Friday in Alexandria, during the fifth round of the group stage.
The Congolese side dominated the first half and took the lead in the 42nd minute through Meschak Elia. However, the Egyptians quickly responded after the restart, with AbdelRahman Magdy leveling the score.
With Ismaily already eliminated on 2 points, TP Mazembe now sit on 8 points. A single point in their final group match at home against CS Constantine will be enough to secure their spot in the quarter-finals.
