PSG’S HARD-FOUGHT WIN IN NICOSIA LEAVES A MARK, SAYS MATUIDI
Paris Saint-Germain didn’t just travel to Nicosia — they battled for a crucial 1-0 win over APOEL in the Champions League, thanks to a late goal from Edinson Cavani in the 87th minute. While the result was positive, Blaise Matuidi admits it came at a physical cost.
“We’re continuing to recover well because we left a lot of energy in this match,” Matuidi told PSG’s official website. “There’s also the travel to take into account. I think we needed to recover.”
With eyes now turning to domestic duties, PSG is preparing for their next Ligue 1 clash.
“We’re starting to look ahead to this match against Bordeaux (Saturday at 5 p.m. at the Parc des Princes),” added Matuidi. “We’re approaching it with a lot of desire, determination, and, above all, the desire to win.”
PSG’s narrow victory in Cyprus may not have been flashy, but it demonstrated the grit needed in Europe—and highlighted the squad’s commitment to success on all fronts.
