Ramos Admits Poor Performance But Confident Ahead of Return Leg Against Juventus
Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos acknowledged a disappointing performance after their 2-1 loss to Juventus in the Champions League semi-final first leg. Despite his mistakes, Ramos remains optimistic about turning the tie around at the Santiago Bernabéu.
“It was a bad match overall. I played badly but that doesn’t worry me,” said the Spanish international. “I have faith in Carlo Ancelotti and he has faith in me. There’s still a return leg to play, and we can turn things around. Giving up is not in my nature, it’s not in my philosophy or my DNA.”
Midfielder James Rodríguez echoed Ramos’s confidence, urging the team to focus on the second leg. “It’s not a bad defeat. They were lucky. We have to put that behind us and think about Wednesday. The Bernabéu must help us kill them,” said the Colombian playmaker.
