Ancelotti Urges Patience After Real Madrid’s Defeat to Juventus
Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti acknowledged his side were outplayed in their 2-1 defeat to Juventus in the Champions League semi-final first leg but urged patience ahead of the crucial return match at the Santiago Bernabeu.
“We have to keep the confidence but be patient,” Ancelotti said. “Juventus pressed more in the second half than the first and switched to five at the back, which reduced the space for us. We played well at times but less so at others.”
He described the penalty conceded as unfortunate, alongside a James Rodriguez effort that struck the crossbar. “Juventus were very organized and determined. Sometimes we lacked precision and tried to rush things.”
Looking forward, Ancelotti stressed the importance of composure: “In the return leg, we will have to be patient.”
