Juventus Take Crucial Advantage Over Real Madrid in Champions League Semi-Final
Juventus edged closer to the UEFA Champions League final after a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Real Madrid on Tuesday night in the first leg of the semi-final.
Alvaro Morata opened the scoring for the Bianconeri in the first half, with Carlos Tévez adding a penalty to extend the lead. Cristiano Ronaldo pulled one back for the Spanish giants, but Juventus held on to claim a valuable win at home.
Coach Massimiliano Allegri praised his team’s maturity and composure. “We took the lead and now have a week to prepare for the return leg. I liked how we approached this Champions League campaign, regardless of the final outcome,” he said.
Allegri acknowledged the challenge of maintaining relentless pressure for a full 90 minutes against a team like Real Madrid. “We played with calm, and though pressing nonstop isn’t possible, my defenders are strong and can adapt to different formations. We could have controlled the midfield better in the first half, but the result is deserved, and I am very happy with the players’ performance.”
