Neymar and Iniesta Reflect on PSG Win, Set Sights on Champions League Final
Neymar, who scored both goals for Barcelona in their 2-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals, expressed his joy at PSG’s elimination and his excitement for the next stages of the competition.
“We played a great match. We played as well as we did in the first leg in Paris, if not better. I’m surrounded by great players at Barça, by stars. I’m living a dream come true to play for this team. But playing well isn’t everything; the important thing is to win,” Neymar shared with Canal+ after the match.
His teammate, Andrés Iniesta, who assisted on Neymar’s first goal, echoed the sentiment. Iniesta, the heart of Barça’s midfield, reflected on the team’s overall performance:
“We are happy to have qualified for another semi-final. It was a great evening for everyone. It wasn’t an easy match, but we approached it well. We showed intensity and played very seriously.”
As Barcelona moves into the semi-finals, Iniesta remains cautious but optimistic about their prospects, focusing on details that could lead to success:
“We are approaching them well. We have been building up, as we should, and the favorable results give us confidence to continue. We are in a good period but it will be decided by details.”
The veteran midfielder also praised the team’s consistency, noting that this will be Barcelona’s eighth semi-final appearance in the last ten years:
“It is an important fact, worthy of this club and these players. We are here and we must try to reach a possible final.”
With the semi-finals now in sight, Barcelona is aiming to add another prestigious European title to their illustrious history. Both Neymar and Iniesta, key figures in Barça’s success, will be pivotal in the club’s pursuit of the Champions League final.
