Chad has officially announced its 25-player roster for the upcoming friendly matches against Kenya, scheduled to take place on neutral ground in Morocco.
These fixtures are part of both nations’ preparatory build-up ahead of the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN), offering crucial opportunities to fine-tune tactics and evaluate squad depth.
The friendlies, set for June 7 and June 10, 2025, will see Chad’s national team, often referred to as the Sao, test their readiness against the Kenyan side. This double-header arrives at an important juncture, as both teams seek to sharpen their competitive edge for the continental tournament later this year.
The Chadian squad comprises a balanced blend of homegrown talent alongside players who ply their trade internationally across various leagues in Africa, Europe, and Asia. Noteworthy among them is striker Ezechiel N’Douasse, who currently plays for Persela Lamongan in Indonesia’s Liga 2. His experience abroad adds an important dimension to Chad’s attacking options.
Goalkeeping duties will be shared among Adaossou Mathieu of Renaissance FC in Chad, Mbayossoum S Diallo from Club 15 d’Agosto in Equatorial Guinea, and Mbaynaïssem Jourdain, who represents CSK Dushanbe in Tajikistan. This trio offers a mix of domestic and international experience, providing solid options between the posts.
Chad’s defensive lineup features a group of players active in various leagues: Ahmad Ngouyamsa from France’s Rodez Aveyron FC, Wanré Dainkréo of Cameroon’s Gazelle FA, Charles Tchouplalou who plays for South Africa’s CASTI, alongside home-based defenders Noubara Félix, Noël Allaramadji, and Haroun Abakar—all from AS PSI, Chad. This defensive corps blends the international exposure of some with the local familiarity of others, aiming to deliver resilience at the back.
The midfield is anchored by players such as Mahamat Thiam Maintah, who competes in Spain’s CD Castuera, and Sindou Yeo from Morocco’s Union Sportive d’Oujda. Joining them are Allarabaye Yves (Foullah Ed FC, Chad), William Damba (Rail Club de Kadiogo, Burkina Faso), Abdoulaye Dafiné (Aiglons FC, N’Djamena), Djoeta Frédéric (TP Elect Sport, Chad), and Youssouf Abderamane (Galactik FC, Chad). This midfield ensemble combines technical skill and local grit designed to control the tempo of play.
Up front, Chad will rely on a diverse collection of attackers including the previously mentioned Ezechiel N’Douasse, Ninga Casimir who plays in Kuwait for Al Tadamon SC, and domestic forwards like Mahamat Abakar and Ali Mahamat of AS PSI, as well as Haroun Tchaouna from Italy’s SSD Ferentillo Calcio. Other forwards in the squad are Ahmat Youssouf of France’s SC Beaucouzé, Adam Ahmat Moustapha from Rwanda’s City Boys FC, and Madoua Tchiva from Chad’s AS Coton Tchad.
This carefully selected squad reflects Chad’s ambition to build a competitive side capable of making an impact in CHAN 2025. The friendlies against Kenya will be a vital testing ground for the coaching staff to assess team dynamics, experiment with formations, and identify areas needing improvement before the tournament kicks off.
As the Sao prepare to face Kenya, both teams will be looking to capitalise on these matches to build momentum and confidence. For Chad, the coming weeks are crucial as they balance domestic talent with international experience to forge a cohesive unit ready for the challenges of African football’s continental stage.
