The curtain has fallen on the historic FIFA Unites: Women’s Series 2025 in Morocco, with Chad crowned champions after a flawless campaign and Afghan Women United capping their inspirational debut with a landmark first victory.
The pioneering event, hosted at the Stade Municipal de Berrechid, provided a powerful platform for emerging women’s teams to make history and gain recognition on the global stage.
Chad sealed the title in dramatic fashion, edging Tunisia 1-0 in Saturday’s final round-robin fixture to complete a perfect record of three wins from three matches.
The result stunned many observers, given Tunisia’s pedigree and presence at the last two editions of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. Yet Chad’s fearless performances throughout the tournament have underscored the rapid development of women’s football across new frontiers in Africa.

Earlier in the day, Afghan Women United made history with a resounding 7-0 victory over Libya, marking their first-ever win in international competition.
The team, formed under FIFA’s Strategy for Action for Afghan Women’s Football, has become a symbol of resilience and empowerment.
Guided by Scottish coach Pauline Hamill and South African assistant Shilene Booysen, the side showcased remarkable progress after their initial defeats, culminating in a performance that resonated far beyond the scoreline.
This tournament also marks a milestone for Chad and Libya as they will now appear for the first time in the FIFA/Coca-Cola Women’s World Ranking – a testament to their growing presence in international women’s football.

The FIFA Unites: Women’s Series 2025 has not only celebrated competition but also embodied unity, courage, and opportunity.
As Morocco continues to position itself as a hub for African football, this groundbreaking initiative has reinforced FIFA’s commitment to inclusivity and the global growth of the women’s game.
