Cercle Brugge sign Ivorian midfielder Lazare Amani on contract until 2028
Ivorian midfielder Lazare Amani has officially completed a move to Belgian side Cercle Brugge, marking his return to the Jupiler Pro League after a spell in Greece with AE Kifisia.
The 28-year-old has signed a two-season contract with Cercle Brugge, keeping him at the club until 2028 as the Belgian outfit continue to strengthen their squad with experienced additions ahead of the new campaign.
Amani is no stranger to Belgian football, having previously built a strong reputation in the league with spells at Eupen, Charleroi, Standard Liège and Union St Gilloise. His return adds proven top-flight experience and midfield versatility to Cercle Brugge’s squad.
During his time in Belgium, Amani developed a reputation as a hardworking and tactically disciplined midfielder, capable of operating in multiple roles across the middle of the pitch. His experience in the league is expected to be a key asset as Cercle Brugge aim to improve their competitiveness domestically.
After his stint in Greece with AE Kifisia, the Ivorian international now makes a familiar return to a league where he has already spent much of his professional career, bringing both stability and leadership qualities to his new side.
Cercle Brugge view the signing as an opportunity to add depth and maturity to their midfield options, with Amani expected to play an important role in the club’s plans over the coming seasons.
For Amani, the move represents a return to familiar surroundings and a chance to once again make an impact in a league where he has previously established himself as a consistent performer.
