In the wake of Al Ahly’s pursuit to fortify its team following Mohamed El-Shenawy’s recent injury during Egypt’s national team match.
Ceramica Cleopatra has issued an official response to the exclusive request from Al Ahly to secure the services of goalkeeper Mohamed Bassam during the ongoing winter transfer window.
A reliable source within Ceramica Cleopatra conveyed the club’s stance in a statement to Al Watan Sport, saying, “Ceramica Cleopatra welcomes Al Ahly’s request to acquire the services of Mohamed Bassam, the team’s goalkeeper, during the current winter transfer window.
This is especially significant considering the strong relationship that binds us to the club and its officials entirely during the current period.”
The source continued, “Ceramica Cleopatra insists on obtaining a goalkeeper from Al Ahly’s current roster, either Mostafa Shobier or Hamza Alaa, on a loan basis.
This is particularly because Ayman El-Ramady does not object to Mohamed Bassam’s departure during the ongoing winter transfer window.
Currently, negotiations between the two clubs are in progress.”
Al Ahly’s officials are keen on securing a new goalkeeper during the current winter transfer window, prompted by the severe injury suffered by Mohamed El-Shenawy while representing Egypt in the Africa Cup of Nations.
El-Shenawy is expected to be sidelined for a minimum of three months in the upcoming period.
