CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC: COACHING POSITION STILL UNDECIDED
With just two weeks to go before the start of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, the Central African Republic’s national team remains without a head coach following the departure of Raoul Savoy, who took over Gambia in mid-May.
Two potential candidates have emerged: Jules Accorsi and Hervé Loungoundji.
Jules Accorsi, currently coaching MC El Eulma in Algeria, is a leading contender. However, after failing to keep his club in the top division, his future there is uncertain. Before taking charge of the Central African Republic, Accorsi would need to resolve a financial dispute with the national federation dating back to his first stint in 2010–2011.
Hervé Loungoundji, who previously led the Fauves until June 2014, is another possible option. However, he is currently engaged with a position in Equatorial Guinea, which could complicate his return.
As of now, the Central African Football Federation has yet to finalize a decision, and time is running short ahead of the qualifiers.
