Central Africa Republic captain Geoffrey Kondogbia ruled out of Marseille’s clash against PSG
Central African Republic midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia has been ruled out of the Le Classique between his outfit, Olympique Marseille and Paris Saint Germain.
The energetic midfielder has sustained a calf injury, making him unavailable for the high-stake French Ligue 1 clash scheduled for Sunday, September 21, 2025.
Kondogbia, who has been a regular in Roberto De Zerbi’s plans this season, has been ruled out of contention after failing to recover in time.
The 31-year-old joins Hamed Junior Traoré (24), who is sidelined with a thigh problem, on the absentee list. Junior Traoré was training apart from the squad, whilst Neal Maupay, Kondogbia, and Amine Harit were working indoors during Friday’s session.
The midfielder, who switched allegiance from France to represent Central Africa Republic at the international level has established himself as a key member of the Marseille clash.
However, his absence from the crucial game come as a huge blow for Marseille, who are looking forward to securing victory over PSG.
