Celtic Glasgow’s Balikwisha weighs up next move as Ogoulola closes in on Tunisia switch

Africafoot’s 15 August 2026 transfer news feed is tracking the latest developments involving African footballers, with Michel-Ange Balikwisha’s future at Celtic Glasgow and Ibrahim Ogoulola’s proposed move to Olympique de Beja among the main stories.

Balikwisha could leave Celtic Glasgow this summer after reportedly falling outside Martin O’Neill’s plans. According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the Democratic Republic of the Congo international does not appear to have a prominent role in the manager’s thinking, with O’Neill’s tactical decisions potentially accelerating the player’s departure.

The 25-year-old is already attracting interest from a number of clubs. AC Monza, FC Basel and SV 07 Elversberg are all monitoring his situation, although no destination has emerged as the clear favourite.

The competition for Balikwisha’s signature remains open, and talks could become more active in the coming weeks. His contract with Celtic Glasgow runs until 30 June 2030, meaning any interested club would have to negotiate with the Scottish side unless an agreement is reached beforehand.

Balikwisha is currently valued at €3m. That figure, together with the length of his contract, could be significant factors in determining whether he remains at Celtic Glasgow or moves on during the current transfer window.

No agreement with a new club has been reported at this stage, but the interest from AC Monza, FC Basel and SV 07 Elversberg suggests his position could develop quickly. The immediate issue is whether he can convince O’Neill that he still has a role to play, or whether a summer transfer becomes the most likely outcome.

Ogoulola close to Olympique de Beja agreement

Benin international Ibrahim Ogoulola is close to joining Olympique de Beja, according to information from 229foot.

The 26-year-old midfielder is a free agent following his departure from Al Nasr SC and is reported to have reached an agreement in principle with the Tunisian club. Negotiations are said to be at an advanced stage, with his signing potentially taking place within the next few hours.

Several other clubs have also shown interest in Ogoulola, but Olympique de Beja currently appears to be in the strongest position to secure his services. The proposed move would see the midfielder continue his career in Tunisia after leaving Al Nasr SC without a club.

Ogoulola’s estimated market value is €75,000. Despite that relatively modest valuation, the presence of competing interest means the deal is not being treated as complete until the final agreement and signing are confirmed.

The developments involving Balikwisha and Ogoulola form part of Africafoot’s live coverage of transfer rumours, official announcements, records and other news connected to African players.
