Celtic eye move for Real Oviedo winger Haissem Hassan

Celtic are being linked with a move for FranceEgypt winger Haissem Hassan from Spanish side Real Oviedo as they assess wide options ahead of the new campaign.

The 24-year-old left-footed right winger plays in Spains second tier and is currently valued at 3.5m, having become an important attacking figure for Oviedo, where he wears the No 10 shirt.

Standing at 1.75m and comfortable operating from the right flank, Hassans profile fits Celtics preference for inverted wingers who can cut inside onto their stronger foot.

Hassans form in Spain has driven a steady rise in his market value over recent seasons, peaking at 5m during his time with Oviedo before its most recent adjustment to 3.5m in March 2026.

Born in Bagnolet, France, and holding both Egyptian and French nationality, he has developed entirely in European football, giving any potential buyer a player already accustomed to the continental game.

Hassan joined Real Oviedo from Villarreal in August 2024 after a spell of loans and promotions within the Spanish system, including Villarreal B and Sporting Gijon, which helped establish him in the professional ranks.

He first moved to Spain in 2020 when Villarreal signed him from French side Chateauroux, following early senior appearances in Ligue 2 that had marked him out as a prospect.

The interest from Celtic would represent a first move to British football for Hassan and a step up from Spains second tier to a club competing at the top end of the Scottish Premiership.

At this stage the rumour remains in its early phases, with Hassan still a Real Oviedo player and no agreement reported between the clubs.
