Celtic consider Chelsea youngster Landon Emenalo

Celtic are exploring a possible loan deal for Chelsea left-back Landon Emenalo as they search for cover behind Kieran Tierney.

Sky Sports reports that the 18-year-old is one of several players under consideration, although discussions have already moved beyond the initial scouting stage.

Emenalo has reportedly visited Glasgow and held talks with Celtic representatives at the club’s training centre. A move to Scotland could offer him the regular senior football he currently lacks, having yet to make his first-team debut for Chelsea.

Born in the United States, Emenalo has represented England at Under-19 level. He is the son of former Chelsea technical director Michael Emenalo, but has developed his own reputation through a steady progression within the club’s academy.

As a youth player, Emenalo joined Chelsea’s academy before moving to Monaco in 2017. He returned to Chelsea in 2019, and an English newspaper described him in 2025 as “a key fixture in the club’s Under-18s side.”

On April 17, 2025, Chelsea selected him for the first-team squad during the Europa Conference League quarter-final against Legia Warsaw. He remained an unused substitute, but the call-up underlined his progress.

Celtic must now decide whether Emenalo is the right option to strengthen their left side while helping the teenager take his next career step.
