Scottish giants Celtic are closing in on a deal to sign Egyptian winger Haitham Hassan from Spanish side Real Oviedo during the current summer transfer window.

Hassan attracted significant attention following his involvement with the Egyptian national team at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where his pace, technical ability and attacking qualities caught the eye of several clubs.

According to Sky Sports, Celtic have reached a preliminary agreement with Real Oviedo for the transfer of the winger for an initial fee of around £6 million.

The deal could rise by a further £3 million through bonuses and performance-related add-ons, with a significant portion of those incentives reportedly linked to Celtic qualifying for the league phase of the UEFA Champions League.

Hassan has reportedly been granted permission to undergo his medical examinations and complete the remaining formalities of his move to the Scottish champions this week.

Celtic are keen to conclude the transfer quickly and register Hassan in time for him to be available for their Champions League play-off tie against Austrian side LASK Linz next week.

The potential move would represent a significant step in Hassan’s career as he prepares to continue his development in Scottish football and compete on the European stage.
