The Egyptian Football Association’s president, Hany Abou Rida, praised the squad’s determination, highlighting how it was an inspiring achievement on the anniversary of Egypt’s October victory. Abu Rida also thanked President el-Sisi for his unwavering support as a “patron of sports in our beloved homeland.”
The celebratory mood extended to Egypt’s top clubs, with both Al Ahly and Zamalek issuing statements lauding the entire football community for coming together. As vice president Khaled El-Darandaly remarked, now is the time to dream big: the continent’s crown is the next target, while local and international fans rally behind the Pharaohs’ historic feat.
