Dr Congo forward, Cedric Bakambu has expressed his determination to secure a place in the national team’s squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Morocco.
Reflecting on his appearance in the team at the last AFCON in Ivory Coast, the talented forward said he still feels indebted to his country.
“I still feel indebted to the selection of my country, after my participation in the African Cup in Côte d’Ivoire I’ve experienced the ups and downs, I had to step back and look at things differently, I’ve returned to a country that I knew better, unfortunately, there were injuries, I feel good,” Cedric Bakambu said.
Now enjoying some consistency at his club Real Betis, Cedric Bakambu is keen on helping DR Congo to excel at the 2025 AFCON.
He also wants to help his country to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
“I play regularly, I recovered from my problems, I am Focus to return to the national team and contribute, I have goals among which is better to finish the season, play the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, a great country, but also help the team so little to qualify for the World Cup,” Bakambu added.
