Cayden Fortune joins Roc Nation Sports International after Amajita success

South African defender Cayden Fortune has signed for Roc Nation Sports International (RNSI), joining a growing group of young players that includes Neo Bohloko, Emile Witbooi and Siyabonga Mabena.

The 19-year-old’s move follows an impressive period with Amajita, during which he helped South Africa’s Under-20 side retain their regional crown at the 2026 COSAFA U20 Men’s Youth Championship in Mozambique.

That victory also secured South Africa’s qualification for the 2027 U20 Africa Cup of Nations in Ghana.

Fortune established himself at club level last season, regularly starting for Cape Town City FC in the Motsepe Foundation Championship after making his breakthrough for the team at the age of 18.

RNSI Director of African Football Recruitment Grant Veitch said the agency was pleased to add Fortune to its roster, pointing to the defender’s displays for the national team.

“Cayden is an extraordinary talent whose work ethic and achievements on the pitch speak for themselves,” Veitch said.

“His performances with Amajita demonstrated the high ceiling he possesses, and we are thrilled to provide 360-degree services as he navigates the next steps of his professional journey.”

Fortune described the agreement as an important moment for both himself and his family.

“Signing with Roc Nation Sports International is a special moment for me and my family. Joining a roster with so many incredible young players inspires me to keep pushing myself,” he said.

“With their guidance, I am confident I can reach my full potential both on and off the field.”

The defender will now aim to continue his progress with Cape Town City FC and Amajita as he develops his career in senior football.
