Cavese bring in Belgian-Sierra Leone forward Ibrahim Kargbo Jr
Belgian-Sierra Leone forward Ibrahim Kargbo Jr has joined Cavese on a free transfer from Kosovo side Prishtina e Re, strengthening the Italian club’s options in Serie C.
The 26-year-old centre-forward has signed a contract with Cavese running until 30 June 2027. He joins the club on 27 August 2026 after a short spell with Prishtina e Re, where he moved earlier in the year following his departure from Belarusian club BATE Borisov.
Kargbo began the 2025-26 season with BATE before switching to Prishtina e Re on a free transfer on 3 February 2026. During his time with BATE, he was part of the side that won the Belarusian Cup in the 2025-26 campaign.
The move to Cavese adds another European destination to a career that has included spells in Belgium, Ukraine, Cyprus, Slovenia, Serbia, Belarus and Kosovo. Kargbo joined Ukrainian giants Dynamo Kyiv in January 2020 from KSV Roeselare, having previously spent time with KSK Lierse Kempenzonen.
He later had loan spells with Olimpik Donetsk, NK Celje and Doxa Katokopia before leaving Dynamo Kyiv permanently for NK Celje in January 2023. His subsequent free transfers took him to NK Solin, Dnepr Mogilev, Jedinstvo Ub, BATE Borisov and Prishtina e Re.
Born in Freetown, Kargbo stands 1.90m tall and is right-footed. His career record includes six goals in 16 appearances in Kosovo’s top flight, three goals in 20 Premier Liga appearances and two goals in 10 matches in Belgium’s 1ste Nationale.
He also scored twice in seven appearances in Serbia’s Prva NL and has recorded goals in both the Belarusian Cup and the Ukrainian Cup. His highest recorded market value was €300,000, while his current valuation is €100,000.
Cavese have secured Kargbo’s services through to the end of the 2026-27 season, with the forward now part of the club’s squad for its Serie C campaign.
