Catanzaro sign France and Ivory Coast striker Solomon Loubao on loan from Monza

France and Ivory Coast centre-forward Solomon Loubao has joined Catanzaro from Monza on a season-long loan, switching from Serie A to the Serie B club.

The 20-year-old’s move was completed on 1 September 2026 and runs until 30 June 2027. Loubao will return to Monza at the end of the loan agreement.

Loubao joined Catanzaro after spending the opening part of the 2026-27 season with Monza. He had not made an appearance for the Italian top-flight club before moving to Serie B, with no starts or minutes recorded in either Serie A or the Italian Cup.

The striker joined Monza from French club FC Sochaux in January 2026 for a fee of €500,000. He was immediately loaned back to Sochaux for the remainder of the 2025-26 campaign before returning to Monza at the end of that temporary spell.

His move to Sochaux came after he progressed from the club’s under-19 side to the senior team in July 2024. He spent the first part of the 2025-26 season with Sochaux before completing his transfer to Monza in January.

Loubao was born in Bagnolet, France, on 3 December 2005. He stands 1.81m tall and prefers to use his right foot. His arrival gives Catanzaro a centre-forward who has experience of football in both France and Italy, while the loan provides him with a new opportunity in Serie B.

Catanzaro compete in Serie B, while Monza remain in Serie A, marking a change of division for Loubao as he begins his spell with his new club. The transfer is his third move in 2026 after his permanent switch from Sochaux to Monza and his subsequent return from loan.

Loubao’s deal with Catanzaro is therefore a temporary move, with the player contracted to return to Monza on 30 June 2027.
