Castello Lukeba dreams of Barcelona move amid uncertain RB Leipzig future
France international Castello Lukeba is reportedly hoping to join Barcelona as his future at RB Leipzig becomes increasingly uncertain.
According to Sky Sport Deutschland, the 23-year-old defender is keen to take the next step in his career and sees a move to the Spanish giants as a possible opportunity.
Lukeba had already pushed to leave Leipzig last summer, but a transfer failed to materialise. He recently changed his agency, while his current contract with the German club runs until 2028.
Barcelona dream and release clause
Lukeba’s contract includes an €80m release clause, which is set to drop to €65m from the summer of 2027.
Leipzig could consider his departure as they look to generate at least €100m in transfer revenue during the upcoming summer transfer window.
The former Lyon defender joined the Saxon club in 2023 and has since made more than 110 appearances, scoring two goals and providing one assist.
Regular starter targets next career step
Lukeba has started all 11 matches he has played since the beginning of the current season.
The defender is now looking to join a top club and secure a place in the France national team, with his future in Germany remaining uncertain.
