Carlos Latre mocks Jose Mourinho on Spanish television after Madrid derby press conference

Carlos Latre has poked fun at Jose Mourinho on Spanish television, impersonating the Portuguese coach just hours after his controversial press conference following Real Madrid’s 2-1 defeat by Atletico Madrid in the Madrid derby.

The comedian appeared on the programme El Hormiguero, where the show had announced: “Today we have Mourinho’s double… Carlos Latre.”

Latre then adopted Mourinho’s mannerisms and recreated several of the coach’s familiar gestures and comments in a satirical performance.

A central part of the routine focused on Mourinho’s criticism of the refereeing during the derby. Latre displayed images of challenges which, within the comedy sketch, he suggested should have resulted in red cards for Atletico Madrid players.

He continued the parody by producing and showing a red card while discussing the incidents, reflecting Mourinho’s repeated focus on the officials during his post-match comments.

The programme shared footage of the performance on social media on 21 September 2026, with the caption: “Today we have Mourinho’s stunt double… @Carlos_Latre!”

Latre also turned to the Jose Maria Enriquez Negreira case, presenting an exaggerated comic version of Mourinho’s well-known approach to matters involving Barcelona.

The comedian then revisited one of Mourinho’s most recognisable incidents with Tito Vilanova in 2011. He recreated the episode in comic fashion with the help of one of the programme’s contributors.

Latre finished the segment with a series of jokes based on Mourinho’s distinctive and often controversial way of reacting to events.

The appearance came about 24 hours after Mourinho’s press conference following the Madrid derby, giving the programme material from the coach’s comments and his conduct during the match.
