Canadian-Liberian defender Alphonso Davies set for imminent injury return
Canada international of Liberian descent Alphonso Davies is closing in on a return to action following a long-term absence due to injury setback.
Davies has been out of action for Bayern Munich for several months following an injury setback back in March 2025. The defender suffered a serious injury while in action for the Canadian national team during the March international break and has since not recovered.
He ultimately missed the remainder of the 2024/25 season as Bayern triumphed to secure the Bundesliga title.
The enterprising defender has progressed in his recovery and is expected to return to action as early as December 202 as confirmed by Bayern manager Vincent Kompany.
“If he can play a few matches in December, it will be a testament to the outstanding work of the entire team. If everything continues to go according to plan, we could see Alphonso Davies in top form.” He said.
His imminent return is seen as a huge boost for Bayern Munich, who are already in top form in the current campaign.
Davies, who was born in a refugee camp in Ghana has already extended his contract with Bayern Munich, fending off interest from Real Madrid.
