Mali attempted a comeback with Tiécoro Keita’s goal in the 88th minute, but it wasn’t enough to change the outcome. The final score was 2-1 in favor of Nigeria, securing the bronze medal for the defending champions in this edition of the competition.
The grand final of the Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations was scheduled to take place on Saturday, with Egypt facing Ghana for the championship title.
