Stephen Keshi, the coach of the Nigerian national football team (Super Eagles), expressed confidence and focus on the upcoming match against the Stallions of Burkina Faso in the opening fixture of the CAN. Keshi emphasized the team’s current state of construction but highlighted their cohesion and quality.
“We are fully focused on this first match, on what we have to do against these Stallions. We are not thinking about qualifying for the quarter-finals, that would be presumptuous. The team is still under construction, but make no mistake, it’s a good team,” said Keshi.
