Franck Ribéry expresses a keen interest in African football, particularly supporting Algeria. In an interview with Berbère TV, a community cable channel, he revealed his strong connection to the Algerian national team due to his familial ties:
“As I have Algerian family, since I have been married to an Algerian for 13 years, I carry the Algerian selection in my heart. Besides, I followed the last match against Libya with members of my family and, frankly, I was happy for the victory of the Greens, to whom I wish good luck for the next CAN. We feel that this team wants and, above all, is hungry.”
Ribéry’s personal connections and his genuine enthusiasm for the Algerian national team are evident, and he extends his best wishes to them for future competitions, particularly the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (CAN).
