After their elimination from the Handball World Cup in Serbia, the Algerian national handball team is gearing up for the African Cup of Nations, which they will be hosting. The team’s technical staff has chosen Romania and Slovenia for their preparation course.
The training schedule includes facing the Romanian national team in Bucharest on December 20. Following that, the team will travel to Slovenia on December 21, where they will meet two clubs, Gorenje Velenje and Celje, the first two in the championship ranking. Prior to their trip to Europe, the team will have an initial regrouping in Algiers from December 15 to 18.
Players based abroad will join the team on December 23. Unfortunately, this means they will miss the matches against Romania on the 21st and 22nd, making it challenging for the coaching staff to establish a coherent system.
The African Cup of Nations is set to start on January 16, 2024, in Algeria.
