The Ivory Coast women’s football team received significant support from the men’s football team, with captain Didier Drogba and goalkeeper Copa Bary encouraging their compatriots. Drogba, from Shanghai, joined the president of the women’s football committee and the players, offering support and advice. Copa Bary also spoke with the women’s goalkeeper, Thiamalé Ange, possibly providing advice on goalkeeping. The Ivory Coast women’s team entered the competition against Ethiopia in Bata, Group B.
