Both Ivory Coast and Zambia have expressed their aspirations to host the 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON). The Zambian Football Federation, led by Kalusha Bwalya, shared this information, stating, “We are working on this file, of which we are currently finalizing the outlines.”
Zambia has two existing stadiums, Ndola and Lusaka, and there are plans by the government to construct two additional stadiums in Mongu and Livingstone to enhance their bid.
The announcement by Zambia aligns with Algeria’s previous declaration of interest in hosting the same competition, indicating a competitive bidding process for the hosting rights of the 2019 AFCON.
