CAMEROON HIT BY DOUBLE BLOW AHEAD OF GAMBIA CLASH: CHEDJOU JOINS NJIE ON THE SIDELINES
Cameroon’s preparations for their 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Gambia on September 5 have been dealt a second major blow. Following the withdrawal of Clinton Njie, coach Volker Finke will also have to do without Aurélien Chedjou.
The Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) confirmed the defender’s injury via its official Twitter account:
“Gambia – Cameroon Match Forfeit: Aurélien CHEDJOU is injured. Aurélien’s recovery is imminent.”
While the nature of the injury wasn’t detailed, no replacement has been named at this stage.
The Indomitable Lions are currently based in Dakar, Senegal, where they continue to prepare for the upcoming qualifier against the Scorpions of Gambia.
