Congo will face Zambia this Wednesday in Lusaka for the third round of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers. The Red Devils, led by coach Pierre Lechantre, arrived in Zambia late on Tuesday, giving them ample time to prepare for their crucial encounter with the Chipolopolo.
However, Lechantre’s plans have been affected by an unexpected setback. The French coach will not be able to include Clevid Dikamona in the squad for this match. According to reports from adiac-Congo, Dikamona’s qualification for the fixture has not yet been ratified by FIFA. As a result, the Franco-Congolese defender, who plays for Dagenham & Redbridge, will have to wait for the return leg to make his debut with the Red Devils.
The team will now need to adjust to this absence as they aim to secure important points in their bid to qualify for the 2017 AFCON. Lechantre and his squad will be hoping that FIFA will approve Dikamona’s qualification in time for the second leg of the tie.
