Togo Awaits Atakora Lalawélé Ahead of Liberia Clash
Atakora Lalawélé is set to be the final addition to Togo’s national team ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Liberia. The Helsingborg midfielder has been delayed due to Swedish league commitments, with two important fixtures lined up before he can join Tom Saintfiet’s squad.
Lalawélé is scheduled to feature for Helsingborg against Örebro on Wednesday (Matchday 12) and again versus Åtvidaberg on Saturday (Matchday 13). His arrival in Togo is expected on June 8, just after the friendly against Ghana on June 7 in Accra. However, should he receive a yellow card in the Örebro game, which would earn him a suspension for Saturday, he may report earlier than planned.
Players Present at Wednesday’s Training:
Goalkeepers: Klomégan Jean-Robert, Cédric Mensah
Defenders: Serge Akakpo, Mama Gafar, Ouro-Akoriko Sadat, Amévor Mawouna, Djéne Dakonam, Donou Kokou, Nouwoklo Kossivi, Alban Sabah
Midfielders: Womé Dové, Améwou Komlan, Prince Ségbéfia, Mathieu Dossèvi
Forwards: Abraw Camaldine, Alowonouvon Backer, Serge Gakpé, Placca Fessou, Emmanuel Shéyi Adébayor
Notable absentees include goalkeeper Kossi Agassa and forward Floyd Ayité, while Jonathan Ayité is expected to arrive in the coming days.
Togo is building momentum as they prepare for their crucial AFCON qualifier, hoping to start strong under their new coach and with a mix of experienced internationals and promising talents.
