CAN 2017 Qualifiers – Togo vs Djibouti Set for September 5, Gambian Referee Appointed
Togolese and Djiboutian football fans will have their eyes on September 5th, when Togo and Djibouti face off in Group A of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Maudo Jallow from The Gambia to officiate the crucial second-day encounter.
Group A also includes Tunisia and Liberia. After the first round of matches:
Tunisia sits top of the table following their 8-1 demolition of Djibouti.
Togo secured an away victory in Monrovia, beating Liberia 2-1.
As per the qualification rules, only the group winner will qualify directly for the final tournament to be held in Gabon.
With Tunisia already holding a significant goal difference advantage and Togo showing strength on the road, this second-round clash could prove pivotal in determining who emerges as the main challenger in the group.
